Due to the large amount of data generated by society, concepts such as Big Data, Data Mining, Data Analytics and Open Data are making their way as tools that allow their treatment, consultation and analysis, and that -by applying Artificial Intelligence algorithms- help to find and understand behavioral patterns in social processes thanks to Datification. The purpose of this research is to identify cases of applications that evidence the use of Datification and data analysis tools, and how they are affecting the dynamics in different social scenarios of the Latin American population. The study evidences that Datification and the use of data analysis technology tools such as Big Data and Artificial Intelligence are transforming the community under study, resulting in new digital contributions that tend to improve the quality of life of its citizens, in notorious aspects such as culture, agriculture, health and transportation. Likewise, there is still much to standardize on issues of protection and processing of private data, especially in the technological field, which translates into a challenge of information security that must be addressed in an interdisciplinary manner.
