A PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF COMPONENTIAL SEMANTICS IN TRANSLATORS TRAINING. Forma funcion, Santaf, de Bogot, D.C. [online]. 2015, vol.28, n.1, pp.99-115. This study analyzes some semantic processes involved in the lexicalization of verbal elements, specifically in the codification of trajectory and mode in English motion verbs, applied to the translation process. The theoretical basis of this analysis is Talmy's (2000) typology, which identifies English as a satellite framework language and Spanish as a verbal framework language. This analysis is based on a parallel Spanish/English translations corpus made by Mexican students of translation.
Keywords : componential semantics; motion verbs; translation; translators training.
