Abstract
SERRANO, Stella. The Reading, the Writing and the Thinking: An Epistemic Function and Its Pedagogical Implications. Leng. [online]. 2014, vol.42, n.1, pp.97-124. ISSN 0120-3479.
This paper is intended as a reflection on the relationship between reading, writing and thinking from the cognitive and sociocultural perspective (Vygotsky, 1985, 1978 and Olson, 1998). These reflections will unravel the deep constructions created in between the processes of understanding and the production of the written word to think and learn. Its purpose is also to make a reflection on the epistemic function of reading and writing from the theoretical review of this particular problem related to the science of language, and examine in which way, from the disciplinary teaching perspective, experiences can be encouraged with epistemic potential. Finally, pedagogical implications arising from the epistemic function of reading and writing for the construction of citizenship will be addressed
