Abstract

Introduction: Boreout syndrome is a condition related to boredom, disinterest and low requirent, which causes disruption to the working population and huge losses to companies. Objectives: This study aims to design a tool to gather information on the Boreout syndrome. Material and methods: Based on the theoretical review an instrument was applied to 150 office workers of a private company in the city of Valencia (Carabobo, Venezuela), which encompasses the three recognized components boreout syndrome, and consists of three parts design. Part 1: sociodemographic data; Part 2: 18 items with a Likert scale for frequency (six for each component); Part 3: strategies pro-boreout. Results: Cronbach's alpha (0.868) was used for reliability, expert judgment for the criterion validity, and content validity and construct validity (factor analysis). Conclusions: It can be concluded that the instrument fit for its purpose.
