Abstract
HERNANDEZ-AMASIFUEN, Angel David; CORTEZ-LAZARO, Anthony Apolinario; ARGUELLES-CURACA, Alexis and DIAZ-PILLASCA, Hermila Belba. In vitro callogenesis of peach (Prunus persica L.) var. Huayco rojo from leaf explants. Cienc. Tecnol. Agropecuaria [online]. 2022, vol.23, n.1, e2032. Epub Dec 31, 2021. ISSN 0122-8706. https://doi.org/10.21930/rcta.vol23_num1_art:2032.
Peach (Prunus persica L.) currently has great economic importance for Peru, increasing its export every year, where the red Huayco variety have the highest production and export due to its pleasant taste and great acceptance in the foreign market. In the search to expand the areas of this crop, multiplication studies have been carried out using biotechnological methods such as in vitro micropropagation, but there have been problems with this species because they are recalcitrant. Therefore, within the alternatives to obtain a greater number of clones of great quality and productivity, this research work aimed to develop an efficient methodology for induction of in vitro calluses in red Huayco peach variety from leaves. First determining the concentration of sodium hypochlorite that allows to obtain greater disinfection and less damage to the peach leaf explants, Later the explants were introduced in MS culture media added with 2,4-D (2,4- dichlorophenoxyacetic acid) treatments and coconut water in different concentrations. Inducing in vitro calluses in red Huayco peach variety from leaves, obtaining 100% callus induction using from 1 mg/L of 2,4- D plus 50 mL/L of coconut water. Finally, the results of this research allow us to recommend the use of 2,4- D and coconut water in the induction of the callogenesis process in P. persica variety Huayco rojo.
