Abstract

This paper reports an exploratory study where a mixed methodology was used. Participants were 5th-grade students from a rural school. The main purpose of the study was to contribute to the pedagogical use of ICT in primary education through the inquiry on creative thinking and multimodal writing skills. The paper focuses on the presentation of results related to: a) the design and validation of an instrument for assessing creative thinking skills related to the writing of multimodal texts; b) the association between these two variables; c) the possibility of promoting this type of thinking in school, through intended, representative and cross-curricular digital writing activities.
