Abstract
VARELA, CARLOS and EL SOUKI, MAYIDA. RELACIONES FENÉTICAS Y CLAVE TAXONÓMICA PARA DIFERENCIAR LAS ESPECIES DEL GÉNERO CEDRELA (MELIACEAE) EN VENEZUELA. Caldasia [online]. 2013, vol.35, n.2, pp.281-292. ISSN 0366-5232.
Cedrela is genus of trees of the family Meliaceae, widely distributed in the Neotropics. This paper evaluates the morphological affinities of the species occurring in Venezuela using a principal components analysis (PCA). A taxonomic key is also presented. The PCA showed that characteristics used for the segregation of Cedrela species provided important information to verify the phenetic relationships among them, with three species clearly defined.
Keywords : Cedrela; phenetic relationships; principal component analysis; flora of Venezuela.
