Abstract
GUEVARA GUERRERO, Marlenny and PUCHE-NAVARRO, Rebeca. Is developmental psychology developing and changing to nonlinear dynamic systems?. Av. Psicol. Latinoam. [online]. 2009, vol.27, n.2, pp.327-342. ISSN 1794-4724.
This paper examines the recent literature about nonlinear dynamic systems, oriented to developmental psychology studies. We review concepts as self-regulation, emergency, non-linearity, and regulated instability. Specifically we analyze the intraindividual variability defined as the irregularity in progresses and setbacks as well as the sequences of performances to the same situation. This variability is seen as expression of the same dynamic concept and specifically as a case of relative instability, a property of dynamic systems, which is studied in a spatial planning task. In this case study we used methodologies that combine a microgenetic approach with the minimum-and-maximum methodology of the dynamic systems.
